Care providers know that smooth handovers and clear care plans are essential for delivering consistent, safe clinical care. That’s why Clintel Systems has launched a major update to its CareRight platform, introducing integrated Care Plans and a new Shift Handover system designed specifically to meet the realities of busy healthcare environments.
These updates are the result of extensive consultation with frontline staff, and they reflect what’s really needed in day-to-day care: structure, visibility, and ease of use.
Smarter Care Planning
The new Care Plan feature lets clinicians build out tailored, activity-based schedules for each patient—whether it’s a palliative case needing multiple daily observations, or a rehab patient with a complex recovery plan. Unlike traditional forms or static checklists, CareRight’s Care Plans are dynamic, integrated with the existing assessment and charting tools, and flexible enough to adapt to each facility’s clinical model.
CareRight also supports custom-built assessments, so providers can embed clinical logic and best-practice pathways directly into their workflows.
A Hand-over Process That Works for Real-World Teams
The updated Shift Handover system has been built with input from nursing teams who manage patients across wards and shifts. Whether handover happens at the bedside or during ward huddles, the platform supports a structured approach (based on ISOBAR) that captures key clinical info, upcoming actions, and who’s responsible—without wasting time or duplicating work.
Staff can see what’s due, what’s pending, and what’s changed. They can drill into assessments, view patient status in real time, and even sign off electronically when taking over care. It’s quick, accountable, and mobile-friendly.
Designed for Clinical Reality
Ward dashboards now give each team member a focused view of the patients they’re responsible for, including current occupancy, upcoming activities, and relevant safety notes. There’s also a full audit trail—essential for governance, incident review, and continuous improvement.
Clintel Systems Director Tim Macdonald said the update is about closing the gap between intention and action: "The standards are clear. The challenge is translating them into everyday workflows that make sense. We’ve built this to support how clinicians actually work—fast-paced, patient-focused, and mobile."
CareRight continues to grow as a trusted platform for aged care, palliative services, and community health providers who want digital systems that support better care, not more paperwork.
